Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)

RFID makes available an electronic means to identify, monitor, track and manage uniform programs.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is perhaps one of the fastest growing areas within automatic, identification data collection (AIDC). While complimenting bar-code technology, RFID extends beyond the limitation of bar-codes given that it is not a line-of-site technology. As a read-write tool, RFID allows for wireless transmission of data which can be updated or changed within the tracking process. Also, RFID allows for multiple scans simultaneously while bar-codes scan individually, a very important distinction between the two technologies.

Recognizing the importance of this cutting edge technology, we at MLD have long recognized the importance of identifying the major uniform components and, therefore, embed chips are provided and incorporated into our garments should they be required.
